Job Summary
Gentry Civil Corp is actively seeking an experienced Heavy Haul Driver to join our growing team. This position is responsible for safely transporting heavy construction equipment using a 16-tire lowboy (West Coast trailer) to and from project sites. We are looking for a dependable, self-motivated individual who can work independently, prioritize safety, and take pride in their work.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, rock trucks, and loaders. While Gentry Civil Corp is willing to train the right candidate on our specific trailer setup and procedures, applicants must already understand equipment operation and have the ability to safely load and unload machinery.
We are looking to hire immediately with an anticipated start date next week.
Pay
$35.00–$37.00 per hour DOE (Depending on Experience)
Responsibilities
- Safely transport heavy construction equipment to and from job sites.
- Operate a 16-tire lowboy (West Coast trailer).
- Load, unload, and properly secure equipment for transport.
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, rock trucks, and loaders.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck, trailer, and equipment.
- Maintain all required logs, inspection reports, and transportation paperwork.
- Follow DOT regulations, company policies, and all safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and project personnel.
- Work flexible schedules including early mornings, late nights, overtime, and extended workdays as project demands require.
- Work independently with little to no supervision while maintaining productivity and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Heavy haul experience preferred.
- Experience operating excavators, dozers, rock trucks, loaders, and similar heavy equipment is required.
- Ability to safely load, unload, and secure equipment.
- Strong understanding of equipment transportation and job site safety.
- Self-starter who can be trusted to work independently.
- CDL preferred.
- Clean driving record preferred.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required.
Interview Process
As part of the interview process, applicants will be asked to demonstrate their ability to load and unload equipment. This hands-on evaluation helps us determine experience level, safety awareness, and overall fit for the position.
