The Machinist III is responsible for maintaining Anderson Dahlen Quality standards on one or more of our CNC vertical, horizontal Mills and Bridge Mills. The Machinist III sets up and performs a wide range of machining operations, using various machine tools, jigs, and fixtures in the production of a wide variety of product parts as well as tooling items. The Machinist III will write programs for performing simple machining operations. Machinist III must possess a high degree of proficiency in geometric dimensioning and applying this skill to the machining of a weldment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strong knowledge of machining, CNC operation, and tooling.
- Diagnose and solve machining and tooling problems.
- Read and interpret blueprints with GD&T.
- Follow standard work instructions and ensure part quality.
- Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Meet daily production and quality targets.
- Perform machine maintenance and upkeep.
- Read and modify CNC programs as needed.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years machining experience.
- Technical training or degree in Machine Tool Technology (preferred).
- Strong shop math, feeds, speeds, and tooling knowledge.
- Ability to set up machines and plan machining sequences.
- Skilled with machine tools, fixtures, and attachments.
- Ability to hold tight tolerances consistently.
