The Docketing Clerk maintains and provides an accurate record of files maintained by Heslin Rothenberg Farley & Mesiti P.C., including pertinent information provided by the staff, Patent & Trademark Office and/or Court systems.
Essential Functions:
- Process incoming mail from Foreign and Domestic Courts and colleagues; compare pertinent information for accuracy and updating; docket upcoming due dates and deadlines; electronically distribute the mail to respective staff.
- Open files in internal docketing system
- Processing of instructional emails received from HRFM staff and assisting with rechecking of information entered by other docketing members.
- Maintain and update custom rules with the docketing database
- Address docketing questions from professionals and staff
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands; ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks
- Excellent communication and writing skills; proficiency in typing and advanced software functions
- Possess the ability to work independently, as well as a team player, in a fast-paced environment
- Have an understanding of basic business relationships and confidentiality principles
- Ability to interpret and follow policies and procedures; possess an openness to training and taking direction
Requirements:
- 2-3 years recent professional office experience, legal, finance or accounting experience helpful
- Must be computer savvy
- Strong attention-to-detail is a MUST
