Manager – The Brew Pump

Job Type: Full-time / Part-time
Compensation: $15–$18 + tips
Availability Needed: 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Sunday through Saturday.

The Brew Pump is a vibrant taproom specializing in fresh, rotating beers poured straight from kegs. We pride ourselves on great beer selections, a welcoming vibe, and building community through pours, events, and local flavor. We're looking for passionate, beer-loving manager who can pour perfect pints, engage guests, and help keep our space looking sharp—inside and out.
What You’ll Do
- Greeting guests enthusiastically, take beer orders, and offer recommendations based on our tap list and guest preferences.
- Pour and serve draft beer from kegs with proper technique (clean lines, right head, no waste).
- Check identification to ensure compliance with alcohol service laws and practice responsible service.
- Operate Square POS system, process payments accurately, manage tabs, and handle cash responsibly.
- Maintain bar cleanliness, stock glassware, and keep the tap area organized and inviting.
- Monitor keg levels, communicate with vendors on inventory needs.
- Plan occasional events (setup and teardown for seasonal parties [i.e., Halloween, NYE, St. Patrick’s Day…)
- Contribute to social media by capturing photos of pours, events, or tap highlights and posting/sharing content.
- Help with merchandising: restock merch displays, suggest items to guests, and maintain attractive product presentation.
- Enhance curbside appeal and venue layout: keep outdoor areas tidy, and ensure the space feels welcoming.
- Effectively manage a small, tight-knit team of bartenders to deliver fast, friendly service during busy shifts.
What We’re Looking For
- 1+ years of bartending or taproom experience (preferred; high-volume beer service a big plus)
- Solid knowledge of beer styles, pouring techniques, and draft system basics.
- Current alcohol server certification (TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol, or state equivalent) – or willingness to obtain through internal training.
- Must be at least 21 years old (or meet local legal requirement)
- Outgoing personality, strong communication skills, and genuine enthusiasm for craft beer.
- Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced taproom environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and team oriented.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift/keg handle 30–50+ lbs. occasionally and move quickly.
