Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapist, where your expertise will assist pediatric patients to achieve independence and improve their quality of life. In this vital role, you will assess patients’ needs, develop personalized care plans, and implement therapeutic interventions that foster functional recovery and well-being. You’ll play a key part in guiding pediatric patients through their journey toward optimal health and daily living skills.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical, cognitive, and sensory abilities to identify their unique occupational therapy needs.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans aimed at enhancing motor skills, cognitive functions, and adaptive techniques for daily activities.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care strategies, discharge planning, and case management for seamless patient transitions.
- Work with diverse populations such as children with autism or developmental delays, or individuals recovering from acute care or ICU stays.
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment use, and safety measures to support ongoing progress at home or in community settings.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, care plans, and treatment outcomes in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
Requirements
- Valid licensure and certification as an Occupational Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience working in pediatric settings such as clinics, hospitals or schools
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical assessment techniques.
- Experience working with people with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, pediatrics—including early intervention.
- Ability to develop comprehensive care plans and participate in discharge planning and case management processes effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with patients, families, educators (for school-based roles), and healthcare teams.
