Job Summary:
A Senior Analytical Chemist provides technical leadership of diverse and challenging projects to meet client requests. Alliance Technologies provides chemical and materials testing and consulting to solve product or process problems. Utilizing a wide array of analytical techniques and methods, this key technical lead must have strong hands-on abilities in analytical chemistry and expertise to interpret data and solve problems not just report results. This individual is expected to perform testing and work with others on the team to solve complex problems.
Key Requirements:
- B.A./B.S. in Chemistry minimum; MS or PhD in Analytical Chemistry preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years industrial/laboratory experience in Analytical Chemistry.
- Expertise in Atomic Spectroscopy (ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GF-AAS, Digestions) is preferred
- Maintain and operate atomic and molecular spectroscopy instruments including: GFAA, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, Microwave Digestion, FTIR, UV/vis
- Develop new methods for trace elemental analysis
- Highly detail oriented and able to produce error-free work
- Experience in other analytical techniques; e.g. HPLC, IC, GC, FTIR, SEM, XRD, etc.
- Capable of performing experiments and analyzing data
- Familiarity testing various sample types, including finished products, e.g. household goods, pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, process samples, wastewater, plastics, etc.
- Good writing ability; e.g. writing protocols, methods, and reports
- Superb communication skills; email, phone, written reports
- Highly detail oriented and able to produce error-free work
- Strict time management to meet deadlines
- Management or supervisory experience
- Ability to assemble and lead small teams to meet project objectives efficiently
- Management of projects and timelines while also assigned to lab tasks
- Willingness to mentor other staff chemists on technical subjects
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements of GMP, GLP, ISO 17025.
Job Duties:
· Analyze organic or inorganic compounds to determine chemical or physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, or reactions, using chromatography, spectroscopy, or spectrophotometry techniques.
· Develop, improve, or customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, or analytical methods.
· Compile and analyze test information to determine process or equipment operating efficiency or to diagnose malfunctions.
· Confer with scientists to conduct analyses of research projects, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests.
· Direct, coordinate, or advise personnel in test procedures for analyzing components or physical properties of materials.
· Induce changes in composition of substances by introducing heat, light, energy, or chemical catalysts for quantitative or qualitative analysis.
· Write technical papers or reports or prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, or tests.
· Prepare test solutions, compounds, or reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct tests.
· Maintain laboratory instruments to ensure proper working order and troubleshoot malfunctions when needed.
· Conduct quality control tests.
· Evaluate laboratory safety procedures to ensure compliance with standards or to make improvements as needed.
· Order laboratory supplies, such as chemicals, when supplies are low or near their expiration date.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
