Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, presentation standards, and safety guidelines.
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and storage practices
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Follow food safety protocols rigorously to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of dishes and ensuring quality control throughout the process
Requirements
- Proven experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, ideally as a line cook or culinary aide
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required
