Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior HVAC Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems across commercial and industrial properties. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and control sequences to troubleshoot electrical diagnostics and mechanical failures effectively.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical systems to maximize efficiency and lifespan while minimizing downtime.
- Install new HVAC equipment following industry standards and safety protocols; ensure proper integration with existing building systems.
- Lead field service operations by managing multiple service calls efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Utilize specialized tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to repair or replace mechanical components accurately.
- Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs to document work performed and parts used; communicate findings clearly with clients.
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations for refrigerant handling and other environmental standards; maintain valid EPA certification.
- Assist in the design of HVAC solutions for new construction or retrofit projects by applying HVAC design principles.
- Support property maintenance teams by providing expert advice on mechanical systems repair and system upgrades.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician with construction experience preferred; capable of handling complex HVAC/R systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and control sequences accurately.
- Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC control technologies.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a <PERSON> driver vehicle if applicable.
- Certifications including EPA refrigerant handling certification; additional certifications in ammonia refrigeration or boiler operation are advantageous.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, welding equipment, and other repair tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong mechanical aptitude; capable of troubleshooting complex issues efficiently.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with clients and team members; ability to explain technical details clearly.
