Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse distribution and be proficient in operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient movement of goods within the facility, contributing to our overall operational success.
Duties
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently to load and unload materials.
- Perform order picking tasks using RF scanners to ensure accuracy in shipping and receiving processes.
- Handle materials with care, adhering to OSHA regulations and safety protocols at all times.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and inventory management practices.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functionality and report any mechanical issues.
- Engage in heavy lifting and materials handling as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred, with a focus on materials handling and heavy equipment operation.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping & receiving processes is advantageous.
- Experience as an order picker or in roles requiring mechanical knowledge will be beneficial.
- Knowledge of safety standards, including OSHA regulations, is essential for maintaining a safe work environment.
