Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately during retail sales transactions, including cash handling and cash drawer management.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product selections.
- Maintain knowledge of store merchandise, including stock levels, merchandising standards, and product placement to enhance the shopping experience.
- Assist with stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store remains clean and inviting.
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, demonstrating proper phone etiquette while addressing customer needs or directing calls appropriately.
- Support sales goals through effective communication skills, retail math proficiency, and proactive engagement with customers.
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math skills for accurate transactions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear product information and excellent customer service.
- Experience in merchandising, stocking enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge and upselling techniques will help maximize sales opportunities.
- Ability to handle cash drawer responsibly and perform retail math accurately during busy periods.
