Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, vital signs measurement, and medical history documentation using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort during processes such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and X-ray procedures.
- Support clinical operations across diverse specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, and trauma centers by managing medical records and assisting with medical documentation.
- Perform basic life support (BLS), emergency response procedures, and maintain readiness for Level I or Level II trauma center protocols.
- Conduct clinical tasks such as specimen collection, medication administration, ECGs (electrocardiograms), and assisting with imaging or surgical procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Manage administrative responsibilities including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out processes, ICD coding for diagnoses, and maintaining accurate medical records in EMR/EHR systems.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care delivery in hospital environments like PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), or Geriatrics clinics.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program.
- Proven experience supporting clinical operations within dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards.
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy, vital signs collection, medication administration, and basic X-ray procedures.
- Inpatient experience at Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable; outpatient clinic experience is essential.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients in PICU settings.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as CPR or advanced life support are a plus.
