Political Field Manager
The Political Field Manager is responsible for executing the campaign’s voter contact and grassroots organizing program within an assigned region. Working closely with the Field Director and campaign leadership, the Field Manager supervises canvass operations, manages volunteers and paid canvassers, tracks field performance, and ensures the campaign meets its voter-contact goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise paid canvassers.
- Manage daily canvassing operations, including turf assignments, materials, check-ins, and debriefs.
- Use VAN/VoteBuilder and MiniVAN to track voter contacts and maintain accurate campaign data.
- Monitor progress toward goals for doors knocked, attempts, conversations, supporter IDs, and other campaign metrics.
- Conduct quality-control checks to ensure canvassers accurately record voter-contact data.
- Organize canvass launches, and other voter-contact activities.
- Identify and develop reliable canvassers into team leads and campaign leaders.
- Provide regular field reports and updates to the Field Director.
- Troubleshoot staffing, turf, technology, transportation, and other field-related issues.
- Maintain campaign materials, literature, yard signs, and canvassing supplies.
- Ensure staff and volunteers follow campaign messaging, policies, safety procedures, and professional standards.
- Assist with GOTV operations, including increased voter-contact activity leading into Election Day.
Qualifications
Strong candidates are organized, dependable, energetic, and comfortable managing people in a fast-paced campaign environment. Previous campaign, canvassing, organizing, volunteer-management, or community-outreach experience is preferred. Familiarity with VAN/VoteBuilder, MiniVAN, Google Workspace, and campaign data tracking is a plus.
The ideal Field Manager is a strong communicator and problem-solver who can motivate a team, analyze field data, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet campaign goals while maintaining high standards for data accuracy and voter interactions.
Pay: $30.00 per hour
