We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Behavior Support Paraprofessional to provide behavioral, academic, and social-emotional support to students receiving special education services. The ideal candidate is patient, collaborative, and committed to helping students achieve success in the classroom and beyond.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with students with disabilities or behavioral challenges.

Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and positive behavior supports.

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-
Assist teachers and special education staff in implementing instructional and behavioral programs.
-
Support students in achieving goals outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).

Provide one-on-one and small-group behavioral support in classroom and school settings.

Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and reinforcement techniques.

Assist with behavior monitoring, data collection, and documentation of student progress.

Support students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and other school-related functions.

Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to support student success.

Participate in required training and professional development activities.
Physical Requirements

Ability to assist students with mobility and daily activities as needed.

Ability to respond appropriately during behavioral crises and emergency situations.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required throughout the school day.
Education/Certification
-
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required.

Must have met one of the following requirements:

Completed a formal academic assessment;

Earned an associate's degree; or
-
Completed two years of study at an institution of higher learning.*

Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate required.
