Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder/Fabricator to build, repair, and modify trash and waste handling equipment including dumpsters, compactors, roll-off containers, recycling systems, hoppers, and related heavy-duty steel structures. This position requires experience in welding, metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and the use of industrial shop equipment.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair waste and recycling equipment
- Weld steel components using MIG, stick, and flux-core welding processes
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and fabrication drawings
- Measure, cut, grind, and fit metal components accurately
- Build and repair dumpsters, compactors, roll-off containers, hoppers, and truck-mounted waste equipment
- Operate fabrication equipment including plasma cutters, torches, saws, press brakes, ironworkers, and grinders
- Install structural reinforcements, hinges, hydraulic components, and mechanical assemblies
- Inspect welds and completed work for strength, alignment, and quality standards
- Perform maintenance and structural repairs on damaged waste equipment
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Follow OSHA safety regulations and company procedures
- Assist with field repairs and equipment installations
Requirements
- Proven metal fabrication experience with a background in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, welding, with relevant certifications preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brakes, machining equipment, and pipe threading tools
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication tasks
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes and component fitting
- Experience with rigging operations and forklift operation is highly desirable
- Familiarity with schematics, mechanical drawings, ASME codes & standards is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
