Pay: $90,000 – $110,000 (DOE) + Company Vehicle + Fuel Card

A privately held real estate owner-operator is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support a high-end portfolio of historic residential, retail, and commercial properties located throughout Boston’s Back Bay and Newbury Street area.
This organization owns and operates its buildings long-term and maintains a strong commitment to quality, professionalism, and long-term asset preservation.
Position Overview
This is a hands-on, full-scope maintenance role supporting a portfolio of high-end, historic buildings. You will be the primary technician responsible for handling maintenance requests from start to finish, working directly with tenants, and ensuring properties are maintained to a high standard.
This role requires a true generalist who can confidently handle multiple trades and work independently across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Manage and complete maintenance requests from start to finish (including documentation and close-out)
- Perform repairs across:
- Plumbing (leaks, clogs, fixture replacements)
- Electrical (outlets, switches, lighting, basic troubleshooting)
- HVAC basics (filters, thermostats, seasonal maintenance)
- Carpentry, drywall, painting, and general repairs
- Diagnose and repair appliances
- Complete unit turnovers including patching, painting, and final readiness
- Maintain common areas and building exterior standards
- Communicate directly with tenants in a professional manner
- Coordinate and oversee licensed vendors when required
- Document all work performed using mobile/work order systems
- Participate in after-hours emergency rotation
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience (residential/commercial)
- Strong multi-trade skillset (plumbing, electrical, HVAC basics, carpentry)
- Experience working in occupied, tenant-facing environments
- Ability to work independently across multiple properties
- Valid driver’s license (company vehicle provided)
- Comfortable using smartphones, email, and work order systems
- Reliable, organized, and professional
- Physically capable (lifting 50+ lbs, ladders, outdoor work)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with historic buildings (brownstones, older systems)
- Trade licenses (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC)
- Retail or restaurant property experience
- Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese)
- OSHA 10 or 30
