Job Role:
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Prepares the patient for exams and procedures.
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients.
- Administers medications including all types of injections, IV therapy as needed, nebulizer treatments, EKG's, PFT's, nursing care within the scope of licensure.
- Provide basic patient care and treatments, such as but not limited to: dressing wounds, performing catheterizations, post procedure care.
- Must have strong IV skills, phlebotomy, and triage skills.
- Collects, labels and processes specimens accurately/Phlebotomy.
- Clean and prepare medical treatment rooms for patient visits.
- Assemble and use equipment appropriately to specific medical practice.
- Ability to communicate with patients and their families, providers, and other staff members.
- Enters patient information into the computer accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ability to triage patients appropriately via phone or in office.
- Understanding of common medications used and prescribed.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relations with other departments.
- Training of clinical staff, specific to Medical Assistants
- Observes OneHealth Primary Care policies and procedures with regard to attendance, punctuality and appropriate use of sick leave and vacation as well as maintaining a professional appearance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Supports effort to comply with HIPAA, confidentiality and security requirements.
- Provides a professional role model for other personnel in performance of duties.
- Empty and track tasks in EMR, ability to multitask.
Required Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Florida
- Strong computer skills, EMR experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
- 2 years experience in a medical office preferred
- IV Certified with Proficient IV skills
- Assessment Skills/telephonic assessment skills

Full-time, Monday thru Friday--7:45 AM - 5:00PM
Required license or certification:
Must have current and unrestricted license to practice as an LPN in the state of Florida
Must have IV certification
Required education:
Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program
Travel: 90% Pinellas/10% Pasco County
