Primary Function
Responsible for completing all work according to project plans, specifications, and quality control standards of the Company. Ensures that projects progress according to published job schedule. Responsible for communicating to Lead Carpenter or Project Manager what materials and supplies are needed to keep projects progressing on schedule and communicating any variances and potential issues to Lead Carpenter or Project Manager as they are discovered. Participates as key member of team.
Major Responsibilities
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, details, and specifications to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required. Ability to see in three dimensions from two-dimensional data.
- Completion of required tasks to project plans, specifications, and quality control standards of the Company. Focus of Company is high-end remodel projects, primarily kitchen and bathroom remodels.
- Able to foresee problems and difficulties and solve proactively. General knowledge of building regulations and codes to be adhered to. Thorough understanding of construction specifications both within the Company and the industry.
- Fit and install cabinets, doors, windows, insulation, drywall, flooring, door and cabinet hardware, appliances, and interior and exterior trim using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous carpentry experience, own tools (see list of required tools), valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with ability to transport tools and materials as needed, and ability to speak, write, and read English.
- Ability to work with little supervision following all health and safety standards of the Company.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, details, and specifications to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required. Ability to see in three dimensions from two-dimensional data. Detail and results oriented. Works well under tight deadlines.
- Able to foresee problems and difficulties and solve proactively. General knowledge of building regulations and codes to be adhered to. Thorough understanding of construction specifications both within the Company and the industry.
- Install walls, floors, and ceilings using materials such as wood, steel, metal, and concrete.
- Fit and install cabinets, doors, windows, insulation, drywall, flooring, door and cabinet hardware, appliances, and interior and exterior trim using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
- Inspect ceiling, floor, wall coverings, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures. Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace using hand or power tools.
- Strong mathematical skills, grounded in algebra, geometry, and simple math. Comprehension of all units of measure and ability to convert between various units of measure.
- Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and personably in both written and verbal forms of communication. Capable of receiving and following instructions. Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers as needed. Team player who takes feedback constructively.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
