Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, clean title (preferable), excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to safety and maintenance. This role involves Safely driving a van to transport goods, cargo, or freight to destinations from state to state, adhering to schedules and routes.
Duties
- 1. *Transportation*: Safely drive a van to transport goods, cargo, or freight to destinations, adhering to schedules and routes.
- 2. *Loading & Unloading*: Load and unload cargo, ensuring it's secure and properly handled to prevent damage.
- 3. *Documentation*: Handle paperwork like delivery receipts, bills of lading, and other transport documents.
- 4. *Vehicle Care*: Perform basic vehicle checks (fuel, oil, tires) and report any issues to ensure the van is roadworthy.
- 5. *Safety & Compliance*: Follow traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to minimize risks.
- 6. *Communication*: Keep in touch with dispatchers, customers, or team members about delays, issues, or delivery confirmations.
- 7. *Route Management*: Plan or follow designated routes efficiently to meet delivery timelines.
- Skills Needed:
- - Valid driver's license (often with a clean record)
- - Good navigation and time management skills
- - Physical ability to handle cargo (lifting, securing)
- - Attention to detail for safety and paperwork
- - Basic communication and problem-solving skills
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and maintenance needs are addressed.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure optimal operation.
- Follow scheduled routes and adhere to time schedules reliably.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and passengers to coordinate pickups and drop-offs.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper documentation for driving logs and inspections.
- Ability to operate safely under diverse weather conditions and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $900.00 - $1,100.00 per week
