Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead QA/QC activities across fabrication, construction, and installation to ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and applicable codes.
- Manage and document inspections, including jurisdictional, contractual, and third-party requirements.
- Coordinate inspections and jurisdictional visits with field and trade leadership while maintaining accurate inspection records.
- Maintain qualification certifications, continuity logs, and other quality-related documentation.
- Review materials, fabrication, and installation activities to verify completeness, accuracy, constructability, and code compliance.
- Participate in QA/QC and project meetings, reviewing drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies, scope gaps, and potential quality issues.
- Coordinate RFIs and submittals to resolve conflicts and maintain alignment with contract requirements.
- Monitor fabrication activities and work packages, documenting deficiencies through Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
- Provide quality and fabrication status updates, visit reports, and supporting documentation to project stakeholders.
- Verify equipment and system installations against manufacturer requirements, approved documents, and established quality standards.
- Develop and maintain deficiency and punch lists, working with field and shop teams to drive items through completion.
- Support equipment receiving and set-in-place quality processes, helping ensure systems are ready for energization.
- Assist project teams in resolving owner punch list items and installation-quality concerns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 4+ years of experience in QA/QC, construction quality management, or a comparable role within commercial, industrial, or energy projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, fabrication operations, building codes, and industry standards.
- Experience overseeing inspections, testing documentation, and compliance requirements involving jurisdictional and third-party agencies.
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, including NCRs, work packages, inspection documentation, and deficiency tracking.
- Proficiency with construction management and project documentation platforms such as BIM360, Procore, or similar systems.
- Ability to accurately interpret construction drawings, specifications, contract documents, and submittals.
- Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with project managers, field personnel, shop teams, trade leadership, and management.
- Demonstrated ability to identify quality issues, coordinate corrective actions, and track resolutions through completion.
- Ability to manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
