Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Order Picker to join a dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting products and preparing orders for shipment, ensuring timely and efficient order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to operate various heavy equipment safely. Responsibilities
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick items according to order specifications
- Operate heavy equipment such as order picker and pallet jacks, and manual handling tools to load, unload, and transport materials
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation of orders for shipping and receiving processes
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular stock checks, quality control, and proper stock rotation
- Assist in shipping & receiving activities by loading and unloading goods safely
- Support warehouse distribution tasks including stocking, order fulfillment, and order picking
- Follow safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during all manual handling activities
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment to ensure mechanical reliability
- Participate in warehouse organization efforts to enhance storage space utilization
Skills
- Proven experience operating order picker, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment in a warehouse setting
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for accurate order picking
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, packaging standards, and materials handling techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling guidelines
- Mechanical knowledge for basic troubleshooting of equipment operation issues
- Experience with warehouse supervision or leadership roles is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order fulfillment and quality control
- Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols including PPE use and hazard awareness
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors effectively
