Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our rapidly growing cleaning service team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive floor cleaning using specialized equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, waxers, and polishers to maintain high standards of cleanliness and shine.
- Handle and apply various floor cleaning chemicals safely, including floor waxing, refinishing, buffing, and carpet cleaning solutions.
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as moving furniture necessary for thorough cleaning operations.
- Execute routine and deep cleaning procedures on different flooring types—hard floors, carpets, tiles—ensuring optimal appearance and longevity.
- Operate cleaning machinery efficiently while adhering to safety protocols; perform regular maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Apply floor care techniques such as buffing, polishing, sealing, and refinishing to restore or enhance the appearance of floors.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, chemical usage, and safety inspections in compliance with environmental services standards.
Qualifications
- Proven custodial experience with a focus on commercial flooring maintenance or related environmental services roles.
- Knowledge of floor scrubbing, waxing, buffing, and refinishing methods along with familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemicals used in floor care.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety data sheets (SDS).
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and prolonged periods of standing or walking during shifts.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for managing multiple cleaning tasks efficiently.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations related to environmental services and custodial work.
