Women's Group Fitness Instructor – Strength & HIIT
Job Overview
BODIED Fitness San Jose is seeking an energetic, knowledgeable, and motivating Women's Group Fitness Instructor to lead Strength and HIIT classes in our women-centered fitness community.
In this role, you will coach dynamic, effective workouts that help members build strength, confidence, endurance, and consistency. You will create a welcoming and encouraging class experience while ensuring members move safely, feel supported, and are appropriately challenged at every fitness level.
Our instructors do more than lead workouts. They build relationships, coach with intention, and help create an environment where women feel comfortable getting stronger.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging, high-energy group fitness classes focused on strength training, functional movement, and HIIT.
- Coach proper exercise technique, lifting mechanics, and movement quality.
- Demonstrate exercises and provide appropriate modifications or progressions for members of different fitness levels.
- Actively monitor members during class and provide clear coaching, cueing, encouragement, and form corrections.
- Create a motivating, welcoming, and community-driven class environment.
- Prepare class programming and playlists in alignment with BODIED Fitness standards.
- Support members in building confidence with strength training and movement.
- Check in participants and maintain accurate class attendance.
- Set up, organize, sanitize, and return equipment after class.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional workout environment.
- Follow BODIED Fitness coaching standards, safety procedures, and operational policies.
- Assist with opening or closing duties when scheduled.
- Communicate professionally and reliably with members and team members.
Qualifications
- Prior experience coaching group fitness, personal training, strength training, conditioning, or HIIT classes.
- Current Group Fitness Instructor and/or Personal Trainer certification preferred, including NASM, ACE, ISSA, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent.
- Current CPR/AED certification required.
- Strong knowledge of strength training, functional movement, exercise modifications, and HIIT programming.
- Ability to coach proper lifting mechanics and movement quality in a group setting.
- Strong communication, motivation, and relationship-building skills.
- Reliable, professional, organized, and team-oriented.
- Ability to create an encouraging, non-intimidating environment for members of varying fitness levels.
- A genuine passion for helping women become stronger, healthier, and more confident.
Compensation
- Starting at $25 per class, based on experience and qualifications.
- Additional attendance-based commission opportunities available.
Schedule
- Part-time, non-exempt position.
- Morning, evening, and weekend classes may be available.
- Opportunity to pick up additional classes as the studio grows.
