Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate Attorney
Position Overview
A premier Philadelphia-based firm with a cornerstone Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice is growing its team and seeking a Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate Attorney with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. This is a hybrid position supporting a high-caliber practice that represents a broad range of creditor-side clients across commercial and consumer bankruptcy proceedings and related litigation. The Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate Attorney will work closely with secured lenders, creditors, trustees, and other stakeholders, handling matters spanning workouts, foreclosure litigation, receiverships, preference litigation, and fraudulent transfer actions, with a particular emphasis on Pennsylvania creditors' rights.

Qualifications
-
Active Admission to the PA Bar (NJ is a PLUS)

2+ years of experience practicing bankruptcy, restructuring, or commercial litigation with demonstrable bankruptcy court experience
-
Strong familiarity with bankruptcy law and procedure, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 practice
-
Proven experience with creditors rights matters, including enforcement, foreclosures, and related remedies (required)

Experience or exposure to preference litigation, fraudulent transfer claims, receiverships, and preference actions (preferred)

Experience with workouts, forbearances, and out-of-court restructurings (preferred)
Key Responsibilities

Represent clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings, including contested matters and plan confirmation processes

Advise and represent secured and unsecured creditors on creditors rights enforcement, loan enforcement, and remedies

Draft and litigate pleadings, motions, objections to claims, adversary complaints and answers, and discovery responses in bankruptcy court

Handle preference and fraudulent transfer litigation, including pre-suit investigations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation

Assist with workouts, forbearance agreements, foreclosures, receiverships, and other restructuring alternatives to bankruptcy

Conduct factual and legal research, analyze financial documents, and prepare legal memoranda and client advisories

Manage case files, deadlines, and client communications; coordinate with bankruptcy trustees, financial advisors, and other professionals

Participate in transactional restructuring work, including negotiating and drafting restructuring agreements, debt-for-equity transactions, and plan documents

Mentor and supervise junior associates and paralegals, and collaborate with partners on case strategy and business development
