Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe their overall condition to identify any changes or concerns promptly
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation
- Administer medications accurately following care plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance to ensure privacy and confidentiality
- Support clients with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, utilizing specialized techniques for safety and comfort
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
- Document patient observations, care activities, and progress in accordance with facility protocols and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, medication administration, and vital signs measurement
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or hospice care are a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or dementia enhances your ability to provide specialized support
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist residents with mobility using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s <PERSON>
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Compassionate attitude combined with excellent observational skills for patient safety and well-being
