Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce high-precision components and parts. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely while adhering to strict quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced industrial equipment, including CNC milling machines, lathes, stamping presses, and other fabrication tools, contributing directly to our manufacturing excellence.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other automated equipment following detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
- Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and interpret CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files to produce precise components.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and specifications to ensure accurate machining.
- Perform routine inspections using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and micrometers to verify part dimensions and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot industrial equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime, including troubleshooting Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety standards in production, including proper use of hand tools, safety gear, and machine guarding.
- Assist with materials handling, tooling setup, fabrication tasks such as welding or assembly line work when needed.
- Support quality control processes by inspecting finished parts for defects and ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment as required for materials movement within the facility.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, or flexo presses within a manufacturing or factory environment.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming languages and CAM programming software.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints accurately and interpret GD&T specifications for precision machining.
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and experience working with precision measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and micrometers.
- Prior experience in manufacturing facilities involving fabrication, tooling setup, assembly lines, or materials handling is highly desirable.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in machining processes.
- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software is a plus but not required.
