Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on vehicles including trucks, forklifts, excavators, and farm machinery using schematics and electrical testing tools.
- Conduct repairs on mechanical systems such as transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, air brakes, shocks & struts, and steering components.
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, cutting, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
- Maintain heavy equipment like excavators, loaders, and tractors by replacing worn parts and ensuring optimal functioning of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues related to automotive electrical systems including lighting, sensors, starters, alternators, and wiring harnesses.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as tire service, oil changes, fluid top-offs, alignment checks, and HVAC system servicing for vehicle comfort.
- Use schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues; document repairs thoroughly for record-keeping and future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or heavy equipment mechanic experience with a strong background in vehicle systems repair.
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics with knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, HVAC systems, suspension components, and hydraulics.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers or similar industrial equipment.
- Proficiency with schematics interpretation and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Ability to use power tools, hand tools, welding equipment and perform mechanical assembly or fabrication tasks confidently.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service and brake repair; experience with service technician roles is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by excellent problem-solving skills; capable of heavy lifting safely when required.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and support operational needs.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
