Looking for experienced Welder:
Working under the direction of the fabrication manager, performing all necessary steps to fabricate material for fire protection system as stated. This includes using heavy machinery and high heat to join, shape or repair metal parts and structures. cutting, threading, fitting, grooving, pulling and shipping of materials.
Job Duties/Responsibilities for a Welder:
- Join metal components in flat, vertical or overhead positions using MIG, TIG or flux-core methods
- Cutting, threading, fitting, grooving of material
- Inventory/cleaning/organization of shop
- Perform fabrication classification when needed
Requirements for a Fabricator:
- Must be able to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and in an organized fashion
- Must adhere to all safety practices. Wear protective gear, handle equipment safety and keep the workspace clean
- Check finished welds for flaws, accuracy and structural integrity against project tolerances
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Some overtime may be required
Minimum Qualifications for a Fabricator:
- Proficiency in common welding processes (MIG, TOG, Stick)
- Ability to read blueprints and measure with precision tools
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- High School Diploma/GED required plus trade school certification or relevant experience
- Physical stamina to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods
- Valid clear driver’s license and ability to maintain it is required
- Must be able to pass a drug test/background/motor vehicle screening
