Part-Time Seasonal | $18-$20/hour | 10-15 hours per week | Barrington, NJ
There's something special about a morning spent outside with little ones: water splashing, children digging in the sandbox, music playing, families chatting, and kids discovering something new around every corner.
As an Outdoor Play Guide at RiverRoot, you'll help create that experience.
You'll spend your shifts outside in our nature-inspired play space, preparing playful invitations for children, keeping the environment beautiful and cared for, and getting to know the families who spend their mornings with us.
This is a great role for someone who likes to stay active, work with their hands, and see the immediate impact of what they've done. Rather than sitting behind a desk, you'll be moving throughout the space, setting up play areas, refreshing activities, keeping things tidy, and making sure everything feels ready for children to explore. There is a real physical component to the role, including regularly lifting and carrying play materials, moving equipment, filling water features, bending, cleaning, and helping set up and break down the outdoor space.
But caring for the space is only part of the role.
You'll also welcome and check in families, help first-time visitors feel at home, answer questions, chat with caregivers, interact with children, and become a familiar, friendly face for our community.
We're looking for someone who can bring both energy and warmth to the role: someone who will happily jump in when something needs to be reset or cleaned, but who also genuinely enjoys talking with people and helping families feel welcome.
At the end of the day, your job is simple: help create a place where children can play freely and families love spending their time.
