Position Overview
Launch Fulfillment is seeking an experienced, hands-on Vice President of Finance to lead the Company’s Finance function and provide strong financial oversight, planning, analysis, and operational accountability across the organization.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President of Finance will oversee financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, financial planning and analysis, accounting operations, internal controls, banking relationships, audit and tax coordination, and multi-entity financial oversight. This position will lead the Controller and Finance team and partner closely with executive and operational leadership to provide reliable financial visibility, strengthen financial processes and controls, and support informed business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the Company’s Finance and Accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, accountability, timely completion of financial responsibilities, and alignment with Company objectives.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis, maintaining appropriate visibility into liquidity, working capital, financial performance, and short- and long-term financial requirements.
- Develop and present financial reporting, forecasts, KPIs, variance analyses, and other financial insights to executive leadership, identifying risks, trends, and opportunities and providing actionable recommendations.
- Partner with executive and operational leadership to support budgeting, profitability, cost control, pricing considerations, investments, capital expenditures, and other significant business decisions.
- Oversee accounting operations and financial close processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, reconciliations, and related financial reporting.
- Lead and develop the Controller and Finance team, establishing clear responsibilities, performance expectations, appropriate oversight, and accountability for departmental responsibilities.
- Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls, financial policies, documented procedures, and backup processes to safeguard Company assets, support compliance, and ensure continuity of critical Finance functions.
- Oversee Finance-owned responsibilities associated with payroll-related financial reporting and reconciliation, retirement plan funding and reconciliation, employee benefit and insurance costs, and other financial obligations, in coordination with HR and applicable external providers.
- Oversee banking relationships, cash management activities, credit facilities, and other financial institution relationships as applicable.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, accounting firms, financial institutions, and other professional partners and ensure compliance with applicable U.S. GAAP, tax, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide financial oversight across the Company’s multiple entities, including consolidated reporting, intercompany activity, and financial coordination related to the Company’s UK operations and external UK accounting partners.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting, workflows, automation, controls, documentation, and scalability.
- Ensure Finance processes, responsibilities, and critical institutional knowledge are appropriately documented and maintained to support continuity and reduce key-person dependency.
- Communicate financial matters clearly and effectively to executive leadership and finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Perform other financial leadership responsibilities and special projects as needed to support the Company.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance and/or accounting experience, including significant responsibility for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience overseeing accounting and/or finance personnel.
- Prior experience as a Vice President of Finance, Finance Director, Controller, Corporate Controller, CFO, or comparable senior finance leader strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
- Demonstrated experience preparing, reviewing, and presenting financial statements, forecasts, budgets, cash flow reporting, and financial analysis to executive leadership.
- Proven ability to lead and develop Finance teams, establish accountability, manage competing priorities, and ensure timely completion of critical financial processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate financial information into practical business recommendations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) or comparable accounting systems required.
- Experience in a multi-entity organization strongly preferred; international or cross-border experience and familiarity with UK accounting practices or IFRS are a plus.
- Experience in warehousing, logistics, fulfillment, supply chain, eCommerce, or another operationally intensive environment strongly preferred.
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or similar advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
