Position: On-Call Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Summary
The On-Call RN provides after-hours nursing support to hospice patients and families, ensuring comfort, symptom management, and compassionate care during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a passion for serving patients and families during some of life's most important moments.
Responsibilities
- Respond to after-hours patient and family calls.
- Perform nursing assessments and provide symptom management.
- Make visits as needed to address urgent patient needs.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation.
- Participate in the on-call rotation schedule.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Minimum one year of nursing experience required.
- Hospice, home health, or acute care experience preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
