The Pennsylvania General Store is looking to hire part-time and full-time individuals at our retail store in the Reading Terminal Market.
The Pennsylvania General Store is a family owned specialty retail and mail order company that has been in business for more than 30 years. We sell a wide array of products - all made, produced, and distributed by Pennsylvania companies - but we're best known for our gift baskets, local chocolates, and fresh baked Hope's cookies. Our customers are a healthy mix of local Philadelphians, conventioneers, and tourists, so it is always lively in the Reading Terminal. We pride ourselves on being the friendliest store in Philadelphia and providing a great customer service experience for our shoppers.
The ideal job candidates should exhibit the following qualifications:
- must enjoy working and interacting with people
- a friendly disposition and is a motivated self starter
- an upbeat personality and positive attitude
- superior customer service skills
- ability to work on your feet for eight hours
- ability to lift up to 25lbs
- ability to work in, and enjoy, the hustle and bustle of a busy public market
- ability to speak/hear over the ambient noise of the Market
- some visual merchandising experience
