Hotel Maintenance Technician II

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our hotel engineering team. This position is responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities, guest rooms, and mechanical systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and team members. The ideal candidate has experience in general building maintenance and can work independently while providing excellent customer service.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, and hotel equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical issues.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.
- Complete room inspections and repairs before guest occupancy.
- Repair drywall, paint, replace fixtures, and perform general carpentry work.
- Maintain and repair doors, locks, windows, furniture, and appliances.
- Monitor and maintain boilers, water heaters, HVAC units, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and hotel standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Assist with emergency situations and participate in the on-call rotation as required.
- Keep maintenance areas organized, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel, apartment, or commercial facility.
- Working knowledge of:
- HVAC systems
- Electrical systems
- Plumbing repairs
- Carpentry
- General building maintenance
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Universal Certification (preferred)
- HVAC certification (preferred)
- Pool Operator Certification (preferred)
- Experience with hotel property management or maintenance management systems.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to respond to emergency maintenance situations at any time during scheduled shifts.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Weekends and holidays required
- On-call availability may be required
- Flexible schedule, including morning, evening, and overnight shifts as needed
