Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef and Line Cook to join our vibrant culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sushi using traditional techniques, ensuring consistency, presentation, and flavor integrity.
- Support the overall kitchen operations by cooking and plating a variety of menu items including grilled, braised, poached, and food production dishes.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, grills, fryers, and food prep tools.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new ideas and ensuring recipe adherence for quality control.
- Handle food safely during all stages of preparation, storage, and serving to meet health regulations.
- Participate in high-volume production during busy service hours while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Support catering events or special functions as needed, ensuring timely meal preparation and serving.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a sushi chef or line cook in a fast-paced restaurant setting with fine dining experience preferred.
- Strong knife skills with the ability to prepare ingredients efficiently and precisely.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures required for maintaining health standards.
- Experience with food handling, cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation in high-volume environments.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
- Background in food industry roles including dietary aide experience or dietary department experience is advantageous.
- Ability to follow recipes meticulously while demonstrating creativity in presentation.
- Excellent food service skills with a focus on quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
