We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Remote Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our innovative healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments via telehealth systems, utilizing EMR and EHR platforms such as Epic and eClinicalWorks.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychopharmacology strategies, ensuring adherence to best practices and clinical guidelines.
- Manage medication prescriptions, including controlled substances, following CPT coding standards and HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
- Provide ongoing patient monitoring, follow-up consultations, and crisis intervention as needed to support mental health stability.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for diverse populations, including geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities or complex medical needs such as dialysis or ICU experience.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment options, medication administration, lifestyle modifications, and health coaching techniques to promote wellness.
- Document all clinical encounters accurately within EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth while maintaining compliance with NCQA standards.
Qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner license with psychiatric specialization; certification in psychopharmacology preferred.
- Proven telehealth experience with familiarity using telemedicine platforms and electronic medical records systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks.
- Strong knowledge of mental health disorders across age groups including pediatrics (working with children), geriatrics (memory care), and adult populations.
- Experience managing complex cases involving acute pain management, substance use disorders (including botulinum toxin treatment), or hospice & palliative medicine is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and documentation adhering to HIPAA standards.
- Critical care experience or hospital medicine background (Level I/II trauma center experience) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to patient engagement and education in a remote setting.
