Clinical Associate
About Bumblebee Health
Bumblebee Health partners with behavioral health and addiction treatment facilities to provide high-quality psychiatric and medical services. Our team works closely with providers and partner organizations to ensure clinics run smoothly, patients receive timely care, and operational issues are addressed quickly and effectively.
We are looking for a licensed Medical Assistant who is clinically minded, highly organized, and interested in growing into the operational side of behavioral healthcare.
This is a strong opportunity for an MA who enjoys patient care and clinical workflows, but is also interested in provider coordination, client communication, behavioral health operations, and long-term growth within a healthcare organization.
Position Overview
The Clinical Associate will support Bumblebee Health providers, client partners, and internal team members to help ensure care is delivered efficiently and consistently across partner facilities.
This role is ideal for someone who understands clinical environments but wants to expand beyond traditional MA responsibilities. The Clinical Associate will serve as a key point of contact for client partners, assist with provider communication, help coordinate clinical and operational follow-up, and support workflows related to prescriptions, prior authorizations, scheduling, implementation, and issue resolution.
This position is on-site, with weekly local travel expected.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for client partners, providers, pharmacies, and internal Bumblebee team members.
- Coordinate clinical and operational communication to help resolve questions, clarify next steps, and keep workflows moving.
- Support provider-related workflows including scheduling, onboarding, credentialing follow-up, prescriptions, prior authorizations, and documentation coordination.
- Phone in provider-authorized prescriptions when appropriate and permitted by policy.
- Track open items, follow through on operational issues, and escalate concerns when appropriate.
- Support implementation activities, process improvement efforts, and special projects as Bumblebee continues to grow.
Required Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant license or certification and experience working in a clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of clinical terminology, patient care workflows, and provider communication.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Professional, patient, and solutions-oriented communication style.
- Strong organization, follow-through, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to stay calm, flexible, and resourceful in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Comfort using EMRs/EHRs, Google Workspace, and general technology platforms.
- Sound judgment and ability to escalate clinical, operational, or compliance concerns appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, primary care, urgent care, specialty care, or outpatient clinical operations.
- Experience with prior authorizations, prescriptions, pharmacy coordination, or care coordination.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
- Experience supporting nurse practitioners, physicians, or other licensed providers.
- Interest in healthcare operations, provider relations, client success, or healthcare leadership.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Medical Assistant who enjoys clinical work but wants to grow into a more operational and coordination-focused role.
This person should be warm, professional, resourceful, and comfortable communicating with a variety of people throughout the day. They should be able to understand clinical conversations, build trust with providers and facility teams, and help keep day-to-day operations moving without needing every step spelled out.
