Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract in Lamar, CO. Travel candidates are welcome to apply.
The RN must be comfortable working across all three surgical areas: Pre-Op, OR/Circulator, and PACU. This role provides comprehensive perioperative care from pre-surgical preparation through the procedure and post-anesthesia recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in Pre-Op, OR/Circulator, and PACU.
- Perform pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
- Circulate surgical procedures and maintain a safe operating-room environment.
- Monitor and recover patients in PACU following surgery and anesthesia.
- Assess patients and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments according to orders and protocols.
- Provide patient education and emotional support.
- Document patient assessments and care accurately.
- Coordinate patient transfers and communicate effectively with the surgical team.
- Assist with processing instruments and equipment through central sterilization as needed.
- Follow infection-control practices, sterile technique, and surgical department policies.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other surgical staff.
Surgical Cases
Experience with the following is preferred:
- General Surgery
- OB/GYN
- Ophthalmology / Cataract Surgery
- Orthopedic Surgery
Requirements
- Active Colorado RN license – Required
- Minimum 6 years of RN experience – Required
- Experience in all 3 areas: Pre-Op, OR/Circulator, and PACU – Required
- 3+ years of Pre-Op/OR/PACU experience preferred
- ACLS certification – Required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Pay: $84.00 - $88.00 per hour

License/Certification:
- Active Colorado or Multistate (Required)
- BLS Certification (Required)
- ACLS Certification (Required)
- CNOR certification (Preferred)
