We are seeking an experienced Controller / Accounting Manager to oversee all accounting and financial operations. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the company's day-to-day accounting activities while working closely with ownership and department managers.
The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing accounting, understands job costing and ERP systems, and enjoys working in a fast-paced custom manufacturing environment.
This individual will be the company's primary accounting professional and will own the financial accuracy of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day accounting functions
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Customer invoicing and collections
- Vendor payments and cash management
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Payroll coordination and payroll journal entries
- Sales tax reporting and filings
- Monthly financial statement preparation
- Month-end and year-end close
- General ledger maintenance
- Fixed asset accounting
- Inventory accounting
- Manufacturing job costing
- Work with project managers to ensure accurate project costing
- Process purchase orders and receiving transactions as needed
- Maintain customer and vendor records
- Manage all accounting functions within the Epicor ERP system
- Prepare financial reports for ownership
- Assist with budgeting and cash flow forecasting
- Coordinate with the company's CPA for year-end financial statements and tax preparation
- Support annual insurance audits, financial audits, and banking requests
- Develop and improve accounting procedures and internal controls
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Experience managing full-cycle accounting
- Manufacturing accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience with Epicor ERP System For Accounting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with custom equipment manufacturing
- Experience with job costing
- Experience with inventory and WIP accounting
- Epicor ERP experience
- Experience working in a small to mid-sized manufacturing company
- Experience preparing monthly financial statements
