Shaft Foreman/Supervisor – Underground Mining (Travel, Per Diem)
Overview
Miller Contracting is hiring an experienced Shaft Foreman / Supervisor to lead underground mining and shaft crews on project-based work with travel. You will work hands-on in active shaft environments, keeping production on track and ensuring a strong safety culture in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and direct crews working in underground shaft environments
- Oversee shaft construction, rehab, and support work
- Coordinate daily tasks, manpower, and equipment to keep work on schedule
- Identify issues early and resolve them on site
- Enforce MSHA and company safety standards and hold crews accountable
- Communicate with Miller leadership, vendors, and customer representatives
Required Experience and Skills
- Experience in underground mining, shaft work, or heavy civil construction
- Previous foreman / supervisory experience leading crews
- Strong understanding of MSHA safety and underground operations
- Ability to read plans and coordinate work in the field
- Willingness to travel and work project-based schedules (multiweek trips as needed)
Preferred Qualifications
- Shaft sinking or shaft rehab experience
- Hoisting, rigging, or structural installation experience
- Ground support or underground concrete experience
- MSHA certifications

- $150/day non‑taxable per diem while on projects
