Yuppie Dog in Houston, TX is looking for one kennel technician to join our 15 person strong team. We are located on 2203 S Durham Dr. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and reliable.
Qualified candidates must have previous animal handling/animal care experience; be people-oriented, compassionate and work well on a team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in animal care, have strong communication skills, be attentive to details and willing to work hard. Please note that this position requires weekend and holiday availability.
Responsibilities

Handle general care tasks such as cleaning, feeding and exercising our guests
- Monitor behavior of guests during overnight stays
- Keep records of animal feedings, medication, treatments, and other updates
- Engage in play activities and exercise guests
- Walk guests to and from parents
Qualifications

Experience in a Kennel/Daycare setting preferred, but will train the right candidate in proper dog handling
- Positive and upbeat attitude is a plus!
- Must have common sense and be able to take initiative
- Must be able to follow instructions closely
- Work well on a team
- Strong communication skills
- Attentive to detail
- Willing to work hard in a face paced environment
- Must be comfortable working with dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments
- Must have sufficient physical strength, mobility, and stamina to lift (40lbs +) and/or be able to handle walking 100-150 lbs guests
- Must have the ability and willingness to learn and the desire to provide gentle, compassionate care for our guests
- Must be able to work on your feet and be outdoors in all types of weather.

Our typical shifts are:
Monday - Friday: 6:15am - 12:30pm & 12:00pm-7pm
Saturday: 8am-4pm & 5pm-7pm (walk & feed)
Sunday: 8am-12:00pm & 5pm-7pm
Part-time (24hrs) & Full time (35hrs +) positions available
