MEP Project Manager – Data Center Construction

The Opportunity
We are supporting a global leader in the design, engineering and delivery of advanced technology facilities, in the recruitment of an experienced MEP Project Manager to join its rapidly growing U.S. Data Center division.
This position will take responsibility for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing scopes on major hyperscale data center projects, working as part of the project leadership team to drive MEP delivery from design coordination and procurement through construction, commissioning and turnover.
The role is suited to a Project Manager with strong MEP construction experience who is comfortable operating on large, technically complex projects with significant electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage MEP scopes across large-scale data center construction projects.
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls and associated building systems.
- Manage MEP subcontractors, vendors and specialist trade partners.
- Oversee MEP schedules, budgets, procurement, change management and project controls.
- Coordinate closely with Project Directors, Construction Managers, Superintendents, design teams and commissioning teams.
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs and technical documentation.
- Identify MEP coordination issues, schedule risks and constructability challenges before they impact delivery.
- Drive installation progress and ensure work is completed safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards.
- Support commissioning, testing, integrated systems testing and final turnover.
- Maintain strong communication with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Significant Project Management experience within commercial or industrial construction.
- Strong background managing MEP packages or technically complex building systems.
- Experience on data centers, semiconductor facilities, advanced manufacturing, life sciences or other mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical construction.
- Experience managing major subcontractors and trade partners.
- Ability to manage schedule, cost, procurement, change orders and project risk.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, site-based construction environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Particularly Relevant Backgrounds
Candidates currently working as an MEP Project Manager, MEP Manager, Senior Project Manager, Mechanical Project Manager, Electrical Project Manager or Mission Critical Project Manager are encouraged to apply.
Experience with a major General Contractor, EPC contractor or specialist MEP contractor delivering large-scale mission-critical projects would be particularly relevant.
