Job Position Summary: You will be responsible to produce a quality part by setting up and running parts, then being able to inspect your work and if needed make adjustments.
You must have:

A High School Diploma or Equivalent, Tech School preferred

8+ yrs Experience operating a CNC Milling Machine
-
2+ yrs Experience in the Aerospace industry.

Knowledge of various metals, alloys, and other materials to optimize proper speeds and feeds.

Strong attention to details
-
Basic computer skills
-
The ability to use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators.
-
The ability to do basic set ups on 3, 4, and 5 Axis Machines
-
The ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and company operation sheets.
-
The ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
-
Skills in using various machine attachments.
-
The ability to follow set up instructions, set up, and operate machine controls.

The ability to do complex Troubleshooting

The ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

The ability to work with Engineering on tool prove outs on new jobs.

The ability to work a wide range of all types of machines.
-
The ability to train other machinist within 180 days.
-
The ability to work well with other employees.

The ability to Identify areas for improvement and think strategically to enhance efficiency within 180 days.

Ability to work overtime, including weekends.
In your role, you will:
-
Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
-
Operate multiple CNC Milling Machines of the same function.
-
Perform precision work on parts with close tolerance between interrelated surfaces.
-
Follows Ops sheets and written or verbal instructions for product specifications.
-
Operate within AS9100/ISO9001 requirements to include proper documentation.
-
Observes overall operation and performs regular daily maintenance on equipment and work area.
-
Verify and visually inspected your work and dimensions per operations sheet to specification.
-
Fill out production paperwork and inspection procedures as required.
-
Maintain specifications by trouble shooting processes; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools, observing tooling; taking measurements, and detecting malfunction.

Works with Engineering on Tool prove outs on new jobs.
-
Adjusts controls to set specified speeds, and feed rate on new jobs.
-
Troubleshoots complex machines and works directly with Programming and inspection to adjust CNC programs, as required.
-
Identifies areas for improvement in the production processes and implements strategies to enhance efficiency.
-
Provides effective (OJT on the job) training to new and existing employees, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs.

Maintain a clean organized work area.
Working Conditions:
-
Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.

May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.
Physical Requirements:

Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.

May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.

Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
1st Shift – 7:00-3:30pm Monday – Friday
2nd Shift - 3:30-12am Monday – Friday
25% - 2nd Shift Differential
