The right person for this job will have a knack for explaining complicated Health Care Insurance and 401(k) plans to an accountant, but also to "the talent", with equal amounts of ease. If you are FRIENDLY and willing to learn, while building relationships with new and existing teammates, you'll be a great addition to our team!
We are a fairly young company that is growing at break-neck speeds, so things will change quickly, and we promise you will NEVER be bored! We are only looking for teammates that reside in (or are willing to commute to) the North East Mesa Arizona area and are able to be in our office five days a week Monday through Friday from 8am to about 5pm.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for supporting the organization's Human Resources functions by ensuring consistent, compliant, and employee-centered HR practices across a rapidly growing Pilates organization that operates 26 Club Pilates studios throughout Arizona and Colorado. This role plays a key part in employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, policy compliance, and HR operations. The Human Resources Specialist partners closely with leadership to promote a positive workplace culture, mitigate employment risk, and deliver an exceptional employee experience while supporting the organization's continued growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Create an EXCEPTIONAL teammate experience
- Uphold our core values to build a positive culture that is inclusive and encouraging
- Collaborate openly and honestly with the leadership team during weekly meetings
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, resolving conflicts and grievances fairly and consistently
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain and enforce the employee handbook, advising managers and employees on consistent policy application
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and vendor coordination
- Guide managers through performance reviews, improvement plans, and disciplinary actions with proper documentation
- Maintain accurate, confidential personnel records in compliance with retention requirements
- Administer FMLA, ADA, and other leave and accommodation programs in a compliant, well-documented manner
- Lead or support workplace investigations into harassment, discrimination, or policy violations
- Develop and deliver compliance training and coach managers on proactive employee relations practices
- Track and report HR metrics to identify risk areas and inform policy improvements
- Partner with leadership and marketing teams to recognize and celebrate employee milestones and achievements
- Any other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, compliance, and HR operations.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and wage and hour regulations.
- Experience administering employee benefits, including health insurance, 401(k), leave administration, and unemployment (UI) claims.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and HRIS/payroll systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
