Join our dynamic team as a Freight Agent / Owner Operator and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across diverse routes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across regional or long-haul routes
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks
- Deliver refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, or general freight to designated locations while adhering to delivery schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and cargo details in accordance with DOT requirements
- Route driving efficiently to optimize delivery times and reduce fuel consumption
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status and any unforeseen issues
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving, including commercial driving and route driving
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely
- Familiarity with handling different types of trailers such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Experience in load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment as needed
- Strong understanding of freight handling protocols and safety regulations
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance
- Ability to manage time effectively while maintaining flexibility for changing schedules
