Position Summary:
10th Street Children’s Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dependable Early Childhood Teacher Assistant who is passionate about supporting the growth and development of young children. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Lead Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing weekly themes, daily lesson plans, and classroom activities.
- Assist with routine care tasks, including diapering, potty training, and handwashing, following established health and safety practices.
- Observe and document each child’s developmental progress and share relevant information with the teaching team.
- Ensure that each child’s family receives a minimum of two daily photos to keep them informed and engaged.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy classroom environment in accordance with state regulations and best practices.
- Actively participate in classroom routines and activities to foster meaningful engagement with children.
- Adhere to all licensing standards set by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of one year of experience working with young children in a childcare or early learning setting
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Reliability, patience, and a positive attitude
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
