Job Summary
The Guild Cafe Wheaton is seeking a motivated and dependable Prep-Line Cook for both our morning shift and evening shift, specializing in curated breakfast, lunch and dinner service.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes that surprise and delight our guests and uphold our high culinary standards. Your skill for food preparation, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will contribute to creating memorable dining experiences. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, dinner items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure all food is handled safely, maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation practices in line with food safety regulations
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients and suggesting improvements based on kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout the shift
- Support the kitchen team in food preparation tasks, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients
- Follow proper food handling procedures during meal preparation to ensure quality and safety
- Collaborate with team members to deliver timely service during busy hours while maintaining high standards of food quality
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service environments preferred
- Strong culinary experience with a focus on breakfast and lunch meal preparation
- Proven skills in food handling, cooking techniques, knife skills, and food safety protocols
- Experience working in fine dining or restaurant settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of menu planning, catering, and serving practices within the food industry
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
