Duties
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes, tire service, fluid replacements, and brake inspections with precision and speed.
- Perform basic mechanical repairs such as replacing filters, belts, batteries, and other components to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to diagnose issues using automotive diagnostics equipment, accurately identifying necessary repairs.
- Assist with wheel alignments and tire rotations to optimize vehicle handling and longevity.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards at all times during maintenance procedures.
- Communicate clearly with customers about their vehicle’s condition and recommended services to promote transparency and trust.
- Support the team in performing vehicle inspections, ensuring all work meets quality standards and dealership protocols.
Skills
- Proven dealership or service center experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including engines, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical components.
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics to identify issues efficiently using specialized equipment.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and automotive service equipment necessary for repairs.
- Experience with automotive fluid replacement procedures such as oil changes, coolant flushes, and transmission fluid services.
- Ability to perform vehicle maintenance tasks like tire service, wheel alignment, and general mechanical repairs confidently.
- Excellent customer service skills to explain repair needs clearly and foster positive customer relationships.
- Capable of heavy lifting safely when handling tires or engine components during maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of sales techniques related to recommending additional services or maintenance packages.
