Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following recipe guidelines.
- Support the kitchen team in meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, ovens, mixers, and slicing tools.
- Follow food safety management practices by handling food properly and maintaining sanitation throughout the kitchen.
- Help with menu planning and ingredient organization to streamline daily operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, storage areas, and dining spaces in compliance with safety standards.
Skills
- Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred.
- Strong background in food handling, safety standards in production, and kitchen sanitation.
- Knowledge of food industry practices including cooking techniques, recipe adherence, and meal preparation.
- Proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, slicers, knives, and cooking appliances.
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff and serving teams.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions for menu items and catering requirements.
- Familiarity with culinary techniques like slicing methods and proper knife skills to ensure efficiency and safety.
