Position Summary
This position will work directly with the Department of Emergency Medicine’s Operational Network and interfacing with the UNC Healthcare System. Additionally, provide direct patient care in both the Chapel Hill campus and Hillsborough campus Emergency Departments treating both adult and pediatric patients.
Required to assess and attend to patients who enter a hospital’s emergency room. They immediately treat any injuries, infections, or other conditions to stabilize patients. ER doctors request medical tests for patients, create treatment plans, and recommend patients to appropriate specialists.
This is a full-time position but the department will consider candidates .50 FTE to 1.0 FTE.
Clinical Instructors, Clinical Assistants, Clinical Associates, and Clinical Professors will be considered.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MD or DO.

- Previous experience as an emergency medicine physician
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Able to make sound clinical decisions in a timely manner
- Able to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
