Provides support to patients, staff, and faculty who have administrative and clinical responsibilities to ensure the efficient operational functions of the practice. This position requires multi-task organizational skills, independent judgment, strong communication skills and strong computer skills. Performs all required reception, typing, filing, computer operation as well as other general office activities within the practice. Assists with projects as requested.
Responsibilities:
- Print schedules for providers and provide each of them with a copy.
- Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors as they arrive in the building.
- Maintain accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information by verifying this information at each patient encounter.
- Collect coinsurances, deductibles, copays, self-pay balances, and outstanding balances
- Accurately post payments and provide receipts to patients.
- Reconcile individual daily receipts and money collected with end of day reports to confirm money balances using Excel
- Facilitates patient flow by notifying providers of patients’ arrival in our EMR, being aware of delays and communicating with patients and other staff.
- Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information. Ex. insurance, address, phone, patient photo, HIPAA, etc.
- Responds to inquiries by patients, prospective patients, and visitors in a courteous manner.
- Check out patients and complete the ESB in the EMR.
- Schedule patient appointments as directed by providers
- Serves as a positive representative of SPA to all patients and co-workers.
- Scanning of necessary paperwork into EMR
- Maintains timetables and ensures all deadlines are met. Must be flexible and display initiative in working on new tasks.
- Administrative tasks are accomplished carefully and thoroughly, with appropriate questions asked when necessary to ensure that the job is done correctly.
- Understands the power of teamwork and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in collaborating with coworkers to provide service.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
