ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Cleaning Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing rent-ready units, laundry rooms, and other common spaces, including exterior areas. By ensuring that all areas are clean and well-maintained, the Cleaning Technician plays a key role in creating a safe and pleasant environment for tenants, workers, and visitors. This role is part-time but can become full-time with fully paid benefits if you perform well.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other common areas so that health standards are met.
· Dust all surfaces, including furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
· Vacuum carpets, rugs, and upholstery to remove dirt and debris.
· Mop hard floors to ensure they are clean and free of spills and stains.
· Operate carpet cleaners and floor buffers to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of carpets and hard floors.
· Disinfect high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and countertops to prevent the spread of germs.
· Replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other necessary items in restrooms and common areas.
· Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in designated areas.
· Clean windows and glass surfaces to ensure they are streak-free and clear.
· Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
· Assist with special cleaning projects as needed, such as deep cleaning or event preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in cleaning or janitorial services.
Knowledge/Skills
· Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to follow safety protocols.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
· Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
· Must be able to perform repetitive tasks.
· Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
· Use of cleaning chemicals and equipment is required.
· May be exposed to hazardous materials and chemicals.
